His band’s newest release, Breathe showcases Paul’s development as a songwriter and includes two co-writes with acclaimed Canadian songwriter Dave Gunning and another with one of Australia’s most respected songwriters, Liz Stringer.

He and his band – comprising Robbie Greig (fiddle), Conal McDonagh (pipes/whistles), Conor Markey (banjo/bouzouki/guitars) and Ewan Baird (percussion) – draw on both Scottish and Irish roots, in a dynamic array of original and traditional material, along with songs by like-minded authors. This year began with a sold-out headline show at Celtic Connections followed by a string of performances across the UK.

The band then headed to Australia to perform as part of The Festival of Small Halls (bookended by Port Fairy Folk Festival and The National Folk Festival) - though, unfortunately, the tour had to be cancelled after just a week due to COVID-19. Next year marks the band’s 15th year, with tours confirmed in the UK and Germany, and dates in the works in Australia, Canada and the USA.
