Meallan
‘Meallan’ is a group of exciting up-and-coming musicians who met during the summer, touring nationally with the Feis Rois Ceilidh Trail; most notably performing at Cambridge Folk Festival and the Edinburgh International Festival. BBC Young Trad 2024 Semi-Finalist Eoin Cumming (Laide), fiddlers Kirsty Harrison (Orkney) and Ruby Smith (Newcastle), clarsach player Catriona Kane (Dunblane) and guitarist Anja Maclennan (Dingwall) are joined by Orin Simpson (Evanton) on keys. The band enjoy arranging tunes and Gaelic songs from their local areas, merging to create a unique sound with influences from all over the country. Inspired by some of the scenery they saw driving around the country on their tour, the band is named Meallan, the Gaelic word for a small hill.

To The Wild
To The Wild is a feisty songstress writing unconventional love songs that fill clouds with mountain tops and hot air balloons with stars. She can be heard belting out bi-polar folk lamenting the human condition, mammalian relationships and late-night pillow talk. To The Wild has worked with many collaborators in various bands and projects since 2001. Her captivating stage presence and unique voice draw the listener into a quiet space where dreams are whispered, and stories are told. She is currently working on her debut album…https://soundcloud.com/tothewildest

Bailey & Kisna
Bailey and Kisna combine to produce an enthralling sound that appeals to listeners, highlighting the elegance of traditional music while also embracing modern elements. They seamlessly harmonise while utilising their unique skills to create a rich tapestry of sound, demonstrating their chemistry on stage. Their love of music is evident whether they are playing at small parties or local festivals, beckoning everyone to partake in the celebration of creativity and culture. Bailey and Kisna thrive to have a significant impact on Glasgow’s traditional music scene as they continue to experiment and broaden their creative horizons. Together, Bailey and Kisna have played as part of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Celtic Connections and also host a weekly session in the Glasgow city.

Romy and Rebekah
Romy and Rebekah first met when performing independently at the Fringe Festival in 2023. Romy Wymer is a Glasgow-based clàrsach player and composer originally from the Netherlands. Her compositions, which draw from traditional folk music, jazz and minimalism, are autobiographical in nature and seek to capture the joy of mundanity in life. Creativity and innovation lie at the heart of Slovak-American cellist and composer Rebekah Woodier’s work. She is currently most excited about finding ambient and ethereal worlds of sound and exploring how folk and classical contemporary music combine and influence each other. In all her music-making, she strives to create beauty with authenticity to lift people out of the everyday and help them look higher. The duo started playing together in 2024, exploring how the cello and clàrsach complement each other and finding a new blend of their creative voices.
