Much-celebrated Scottish traditional music composer and performer Ross Ainslie plays this energetic and enthralling set – appropriately titled ‘Danger Zone’ – as part of The Music of Gordon Duncan recital concert in the famous auditorium of the National Piping Centre in Glasgow as part of the 2023 Piping Live! Festival.
The Music of Gordon Duncan Recital Concert at the National Piping Centre was a heartfelt celebration of one of the most innovative, influential and talented bagpipers Scotland has ever produced.
Ross Ainslie, one of Scotland’s finest contemporary pipers, composers and performers of traditional music, takes to the National Piping Centre stage here to perform a selection of original compositions by his childhood mentor and good friend, the late great Gordon Duncan (1964—2005). Playing Gordon’s famous pipes, this special concert recital was compiled to honour the memory and music of one of Scotland’s most groundbreaking composers to date.
This footage was captured as part of a week-long series of live streams from Glasgow’s world famous Piping Live! festival, produced by TRADtv (and parent company Inner Ear).
