TRADtv catches up with Skippinish frontman and much-loved Isle of Lewis born folk musician, Norrie MacIver as he prepares to headline the main stage at Killin Music Festival. Norrie chats about his songwriting process, juggling his successful music career with his busy family life, and the importance of Gaelic song in contemporary culture.
Since releasing his first solo album ‘Danns an Rathaid’ in 2014, singer / songwriter Norrie has firmly established himself as one of the foremost Gaelic vocalists, writing songs and singing in both English and his native first language throughout his performances and music releases. Norrie became lead singer of Skippinish in 2016 and both his work with the band and as a soloist have grown from strength to strength ever since, releasing various critically-acclaimed pieces of music and touring all over the UK and Europe.
