Sophie Stringer from the Maket Collective sits down with Patricia Henderson at the 2025 Glenfiddich Piping Championships to talk about her career and experience in piping.
Patricia originally from Aberdeen speaks of her early piping tuition from Sandy Robertson and later Bob Nicol for piobaireachd. They speak of Patricia’s husband, Murray, and his unwavering support of her competition and judging career, and of their daughters, Fiona and Faye, and their musical success. Sophie also speaks to Patricia about the challenges women face in piping and what is required to achieve success in the highest level of competition.
