Local heroes Govan Community Pipe Band perform on their home turf in Glasgow, marching and playing down Buchanan Street in the run up to competing in the 2025 World Pipe Band Championships and as part of Glasgow’s annual celebration of bagpiping, the Piping Live! Festival.
TRADtv caught up with key members of the band during their outing, discussing preparations for the high-level competition and what it means to play in the centre of their home town to an enthusiastic audience of piping fans from all over the world.
Govan Community Pipe Band was founded in 2013 with a vision to bring the joy of music to the community of Govan, taking great pride in their Grade 4A pipe band and the fantastic group of people representing the band and community. With a strong sense of community and a love for music, we strive to inspire and entertain audiences through our performances.
