Peoples Ford Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band perform their Grade 1 Medley at the 2026 World Pipe Band Championships on Glasgow Green.
One of the most respected names in the pipe band world, Boghall & Bathgate finally claimed their first World Championship title in 2023 after decades of success at the highest level. Based in West Lothian, the organisation is also renowned for its long-standing teaching programme, which has developed generations of pipers and drummers and helped sustain the band’s remarkable consistency in Grade 1.
The band entered a new chapter under Pipe Major Calum Watson, who took over after the 2024 season, alongside Leading Drummer Kerr McQuillan. Their 2026 campaign proved another highly competitive one, including second place at both the British and European Championships and a strong run across the major championship season.
At the 2026 World Pipe Band Championships, Boghall & Bathgate finished third overall in Grade 1, behind Simon Fraser University and Field Marshal Montgomery, rounding off another season among the very best bands in the world.
