The Shee featuring Karine Polwart and Rachel Newton Perform The Jute Mill Song / Song for Mary

To celebrate ten years of the band, The Shee have launched Continuum – an exciting new project that saw six of their favourite folk musicians have composed pieces for the band. At Celtic Connections 2016, each composer joined the band for a one-off special launch gig where they performed a duet with a member of the band before introducing their piece.

Here, Karine Polwart performs The Jute Mill Song with Rachel Newton, before introducing her composition – ‘Song for Mary’.

  1. There’s nae ‘political radicalism’ in Scotland lassie, the entire UK wide ‘political pantomime’ is run exclusively by the Rothschild ‘Bankster’ family and their Zionist political parties.  They run the entire show…end of.  Scotland was always strong on sentiment though.

  2. The Scottish Parliament…HA HA HA HA HA….lol  lol   lol….WHAT A DEN OF LIARS, AND ‘COVER UP’ MERCHANTS.  Just look at the tragic condition of Scotland. One in three kids going to school hungry, fuel poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, drunken-ness, drugs, homelessness….etc. etc.  What…one asks…are these awful so-called Scottish politicians doing about it all?  Nothing whatsoever. They represent the hidden hands that are causing all the problems…not the people that elected them to  solve these criminal ills.  Neither these lying so-called politicians or these songs are going to do anything whatsoever.  Life in Scotland has gone downhill for most since these funeral durge songs were written.
