In celebration of Scotland’s Traditional Arts, Music and Culture and to mark the country’s Beltane and Mayday festivals, the acclaimed annual TradFest showcase has once again returned to Edinburgh for 2015.
As summer is ushered in, so too is the colourful array of folk acts, events and cultural displays across the capital, with lots to see, hear and experience in venues all over the city between Wednesday 29 April—Sunday 10 May. Expect everything from traditional music, dance, storytelling, drama, song, film and crafts, to seasonal customs and environmental arts, all open to the public.
Working true to it’s tagline, ‘Rooted in the past. Resonating in the present’ TradFest 2015 brings a huge array of folk-based talents from all over Scotland and far beyond to one place, creating an unmissable and vibrant atmosphere around traditional arts and culture.
Follow the TradFest Trail throughout Edinburgh to find folk roots in pubs, craft shops, bookshops, galleries and more. Some of the acts on this year’s bill, performing all over the city, will be: Kim Edgar, Mairi Campbell, pbell, Emily Smith, Swedish Trio Väsen, The Hydro Choir from Oslo, Nuala Kennedy, Dean Owens and the Whisky Hearts and many more.
