As part of our coverage of Glasgow’s 2024 Piping Live! Festival, TRADtv was lucky enough to capture the first ever live public performance from the ‘Emma Hill & Friends’ Trio (featuring Iona Reid and Juliette Lemoine). We spoke with the talented young band leader straight after her show in the National Piping Centre’s Street Cafe about her musical influences and journey to be playing pipes with her own trio at the world famous festival of bagpiping. The group beautifully intertwines Scottish traditional music with a hint of jazz and classical accompaniment to great effect, and is certainly one to watch out for in the coming years!
