Glasgow’s International Piping Festival, Piping Live! once again returns for a week long celebration of all things piping, taking place in venues and spaces across the city between 10—16 August 2015. The week long festival will encompass over 200 different events, including the World Pipe Band Championships 2015 in Glasgow Green, the anticipated Pipe Idol competition and daily traditional music performances from the heart of Glasgow’s city centre, in George Square.
Everything from guided tours, live music, top level competitions, and something for all ages will feature at the Piping Live! festival with thousands of visitors and competitors from all over the world flocking to Glasgow to enjoy the proceedings and various events on offer. The festival will also be streaming a number of events live, including day 1 of the World Pipe Band Championships heats, a world record solo piping attempt ‘Pipe-A-Thon’ in which a piper will attempt to play the pipes for 24 hours and many more. TradTV has the pleasure of being involved in some of these streams and capturing performances such as The Big Music Society’s anticipated re-staging of Murray Henderson and Duncan Grant gig at Cottiers Theatre.
