In collaboration with TRADtv, the @MaketCollective hosted their first piping Recital Series at the @nationalpipingcentre in April 2026. The recital featured 5 incredible female pipers, had a live audience and was hosted by Hannah Rarity, a leading figure in the Scottish folk scene, celebrated for her exceptional voice & dynamic musical presence.
Eala has been playing pipes since the age of seven. Initially taught by Bob McFie at the College of Piping, she now receives lessons from John Mulhearn and Margaret Houlihan. Currently in second year at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, she studies a Bachelor’s of Music in Traditional Music – Piping.
She competes in solo piping around Scotland and was a 2025 Pipe Idol finalist at Piping Live!’s prestigious U21 competition. She also won the Intermediate MSR at the 2025 Argyllshire Gathering, gaining her an invitation to the Lochnell Championship (U22), where she placed 3rd in the Piobaireach. She hopes to continue progressing in solo piping to reach the top prizes in future.
